Two reminders:

1. WMHIC March meeting is tomorrow, Friday March 2, at Western New England University, in the Mass Mutual Room at the D'Amour Library. (GPS address: 1215 Wilbraham Rd., Springfield 01119 and there will be reserved parking near Herman Hall, otherwise use visitor parking spaces.)  We start at 9 AM with coffee and the business meeting, and we'll be taking a tour of the Pharmacy program and facilities at 10:30 AM. Hope to see you there!  

2. Tomorrow, Friday March 2, is also the last day to sign up for a spot at the joint program on Library Marketing to be held March 23 at Olin College (see previous post for full details). Those who are MAHSLIN/BBLC/NECHI/SEMCO members get priority registration, ahead of those who are not members of any of these groups, but only until tomorrow. Email Alison Clapp of Children's Hospital Boston to sign up.

Boston Biomedical Library Consortium is happy to welcome all Massachusetts Health Science librarians to their first joint educational meeting, with a topic in support of the upcoming MAHSLIN Annual Meeting theme of marketing. (MAHSLIN Annual Meeting will be Friday, April 20th, 2012.)

Springfield Technical Community College hosts WMHIC December Meeting

STCC welcomed the WMHIC group this past Friday for our quarterly winter meeting. Along with a general business meeting and updates from members' institutions, we were able to tour the unique and cutting edge medical simulation lab at STCC.

Friends of WMRLS meeting October 8

Friends of WMRLS Annual Meeting, is having a meeting October 8, 2010, at the Whately facility of the Massachusetts Library System.

From the news release:

Now that WMRLS is no more, we must redefine our mission and our focus as an organization. We have many options. We need your input, imagination and inspiration.

Join us at the Friends of WMRLS Annual Meeting, October 8, 2010, in Whately at the former WMRLS Headquarters (coffee 9:30, meeting 10 – 12).

Help us determine our organization’s future direction.We have many choices:

• Continue to build and maintain a cohesive, motivated, western Mass library community.
• Continue to inform legislators of the needs of the western Mass library community.
• Continue to advocate with the new Massachusetts Library System for the needs of western Mass libraries.
• Provide leadership within the local library community.
• Maintain a relationship with the wider library community in the Commonwealth.
• All of the above
• None of the above; disband the organization.
• Other ideas that you bring to the discussion.
